setter

Leonardo Uribe commented on MYFACES-1765:
-----------------------------------------
Hi
I have done this test:
<h:selectOneMenu id="si" binding="#{selectItemBean.component}"
value="#{selectItemBean.value}"
valueChangeListener="#{selectItemBean.processValueChange}"
onchange="submit()">
<f:selectItem itemLabel="Choose One" itemValue="choose_one" />
<f:selectItems value="#{selectItemBean.list}" />
</h:selectOneMenu>
<!-- THIS TAG HERE LET ME SEE WHAT VALUE HAS ON RENDER RESPONSE -->
<h:outputText value="#{selectItemBean.value}"></h:outputText>
The bean is on request scope. I have tested the following environments:
jsf ri 1.2_05
myfaces 1.2.1-SNAPSHOT
myfaces 1.2.1-SNAPSHOT + faceletes
All has the same behavior. All call the setter, but after valueChange method is called, before it, value property of the bean is allways null.
I don't believe that tomahawk affects in something.
Could you send more details to try to reproduce this issue, please?
> h:selectOneMenu doesn't call setter

> Key: MYFACES-1765
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/MYFACES-1765
> Project: MyFaces Core
> Issue Type: Bug
> Components: General
> Affects Versions: 1.2.0
> Environment: MyFaces 1.2.1 - Tomahawk 2.0 Snapshot - Facelets 1.1.13
> Reporter: Wolf Benz
> Priority: Blocker
> Fix For: 1.2.1-SNAPSHOT
>
>
> I don't know whether this error only occurs in combination with facelets, but this is what happens: the "return value: of a h:selectOneMenu in always "null" in the sense that the SETTER IS NEVER CALLED (-> value stays null)
> So for:
> <h:selectOneMenu value="#{testOverviewBean.compoundCodeFromMenu}" valueChangeListener="#{testOverviewBean.fillTestSeqNrs}" onchange="submit();">
> <f:selectItem itemLabel="Choose One" itemValue="choose_one"/>
> <f:selectItems value="#{utilBean.compoundCodes}" />
> </h:selectOneMenu>
> ... the setCompoundCodeFromMenu() is never called, which always leads to NPEs later on.
> As this is one of the few core components ("h:"), I think labelling it "blocking" is justiefied.
