Re: InterScan eManager Content Management Notification! (Dirty Words)

Sorry for the noise, but is anyone else on the list getting these? My ISP
(optushome.com.au) is adamant that they are not responsible for this...

I've had a half dozen or so of them in the last hour, from a variety of
source addresses, all from this list.

Yes,

This looks like some kind of screwup. I doubt a bunch of
people are suddenly using abusive language on the list.

Can someone fix this?

BTW, I don't understand why we need
this sort of content filtering anyway.

This is not the Disney channel.

My ISP is clubnet.net. I already wrote to them asking for an explanation.
It looks like someone has a hare-brained filter gone berserk.
It goes to show that censorship can never work well.

I first saw these on the Struts list, so it's not just a Tomcat thing.

Right,

I have already noticed it and just took a
phone call to our postmaster and they are
trying to check out the reason for this .
Perhaps it's on the system configuration
or I have a new type of virus in my e-mail
system (Netscape 6) which try to send
inappropriate messages to this mailing-list.

I'm really sorry for all this mess,
please be patient for a while.

Immo

The messages look like they come from your local postmaster, but
there's nothing running in our domain that would cause this.

Nope, they aren't from your firewall, they're coming from systoc.com's
"eManager" (*yuck*), which is using "postmaster" as the "From:" address
when it should really use "postmaster@systoc.com"... and many mail
servers (including yours and ours) will append their own domain to
From's that lack a domain part... sure, you'll get valid addresses that
way, but it's senseless nonetheless... :(

Yes, I'm getting them too. I'm pretty sure they are
coming from our company's firewall because of the
address. I sent mail here complaining.
Haven't heard back yet.
