The archiva.xml from http://svn.apache.org/r1571882 works fine. 
I could not startup the 2.0.0 release a single time. I had it installed on a vanilla debian wheezy. It always stopped with the listed exception. 

>From my point of view i would consider the 2.0.0 release as broken. When will 2.0.1 released?
