Help! Launching Catalina with Debugging Enabled

I've just downloaded and installed tomcat 4.0 and I need to launch it
with debugging enabled, but I'm darned if I can figure out how. I've
searched the mailing list archives and I gather that I set TOMCAT_OPTS
to something like
"-Xnoagent-Xdebug-Xrunjdwp:transport=dt_socket=5354,server=y,suspend=n".
I just can't figure our where, i.e. what file, etc., I do this. I
really, really need to get this going. I've got major testing milestone
coming up tomorrow. Thanks much for your help.

Chuck

Type 'catalina.sh' and check out the help screen of valid parameters
including debug. You could invoke catalina.sh directly or modify startup.sh
(the better solution IMO) so it invokes catalina.sh with debug instead of
start. Check it out and see if it helps.

For Tomcat 4 the environment variable to set is CATALINA_OPTS, not
TOMCAT_OPTS.

If you're running on a Unix platform, also read the comments inside
"catalina.sh" about using the JPDA_OPTS environment variable, and starting
Tomcat with:

  $CATALINA_HOME/bin/catalina.sh jpda start
