CVS
How do I check-out CVS?
The web-site does NOT mention it.

Yes, it would. If you want to file a bug, please feel free. There's a lot
of work that needs to be done to the web site, and I hope we can get to it
sometime soon.

Yes, it should still work. If it doesn't, please let us know, and someone
will fix it.

Hi Colin,
It looks like you got your code while I was in the middle of checking in,
which is one of the hazards with using the latest CVS. Just do an update
in your source tree and you should get working code. I've done Linux
builds with several versions of gcc and all looks well.

E.g. instead of -I$XALANCROOT/src, use -I$XALANCROOT/src/xalanc, or
prepend xalanc on all your include directives :
#include <xalanc/Include/PlatformDefinitions.hpp>

Hi Colin,
We just did a transition to a new directory stucture so we can get our
build/install situation cleared up, so there are going to be a few
glitches.
Yes, you should use the runConfigure in the xalanc directory. You should
do the following:
chmod +x runConfigure configure
which will fix the execute permissions problem. We will get that cleared
up in the repository soon.
Eveyrhing else in the build documentation should be OK. You will need to
update your own makefiles to use the new directory name for include files.

Right - next - how do I do a build (on linux)?
The documentation on the web-site for 1.5 clearly no longer applies:
1) There is no runConfigure in the c/src directory - I guessed at
changing to c/src/xalanc.
2) In c/src/xalanc, runConfigure is not executable, so I get
permission denied.
3) Trying to run it with the sh command still results in permission
denied, this time for configure:
Generating makefiles with the following options ...
Platform: linux
C Compiler: gcc
C++ Compiler: c++
Extra compile options:
Extra link options:
Thread option:
bitsToBuild option: 32
Extra configure options:
Debug is OFF
./runConfigure: line 412: ./configure: Permission denied
If the result of the above commands look OK to you, go to the directory
/home/colin/xml-xalan/c/src and type "gmake" or "make" to make the XALAN-C
system.
Note: You must use GNU make to use the Xalan Makefile.
