A small question here. 
Is it more than just a coprocessor enabled via hbase-site.xml  which will read the systen.catalog on start() lookup the existing index meta then basing on the "parent tables" and their indexed fields there do the postPut() which will insert the rows into the IDX_ table? 
Just curious.
