[Issue 126759] New: Update link when loaded

https://bz.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=126759

          Issue ID: 126759
        Issue Type: DEFECT
           Summary: Update link when loaded
           Product: Calc
           Version: 4.1.2
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: Normal
          Priority: P5 (lowest)
         Component: programming
          Assignee: issues@openoffice.apache.org
          Reporter: pascalhauch@gmail.com

If you use the function to link in a spreesheet to another sheet, OpenOffice
asks while the opening of the doucument 'if you want to actualise the
document'. Normally you can change this setting in
'Extras'-'Settings'-'OpenOffice Calc' in the upper right corner.

But when you change this setting the document seems to ignoring it and aks me
again.

I could reproduce this on two of my computer, one is running Win 8.1 Pro an the
other one Win 10 Pro. All of the two have the latest (2.1.2) version installed.

I attached two screenshots (but they're in german -sorry)

Thanks for all the work but we already confirmed the situation. It is a
consequence of the security vulnerability (not fixed in 4.1.1) that was
remedied in 4.1.2.

We will look into how to smooth things up without re-opening the attack
surface.

Note that one solution would be to simply remove the disabled option
altogether. We will strive to avoid that.

This appears to be a side-effect of changes made to mitigate a security
vulnerability, <http://www.openoffice.org/security/cves/CVE-2015-4551.html>.
The immediate remedy was to always require user confirmation of access to
external material.

Adjustments may be needed to have this work more smoothly without lowering the
barrier to such exploits. More analysis is required.

I have the same problem. I select and open multiple files in the OS file
manager. The first file opens to a gray window and never changes until I
reselect it from a file list. Then the contents appear and asks if I want
update the links. The Calc Options' General tab has "Always Update Links"
selected. Version 4.1.1 never asked the question. With 4.1.2 I need to open 1
file at a time and answer the question.

The 5 attached PDFs show the 5 steps for reproducing the problem.

For now, I'm going back to version 4.1.1.
