I have a couple of questions to ask you to help others reply to you problem.

You say you are using version 2.5. This version is old, we just released
version 3.5. I would suggest you try the following.

(1) Upgrade to version 3.5 and see if you still have the 64 bit trouble.

and / or

(2) Only run your POI version 2.5 as 32 bit software.

I hope these suggestions are helpful, please let us know.

Also it will help to know which version of Java you are using.
