[jira] [Created] (ZEPPELIN-5009) Zeppelin 0.9.0-preview2 not
compabible with newest Anaconda 2020.07
Gilles Maitre created ZEPPELIN-5009:
---------------------------------------
Summary: Zeppelin 0.9.0-preview2 not compabible with newest Anaconda 2020.07
Key: ZEPPELIN-5009
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ZEPPELIN-5009
Project: Zeppelin
Issue Type: Bug
Components: python
Affects Versions: 0.9.0
Reporter: Gilles Maitre
Hello Zeppelin Team,
After a couple of tests, i found that the Zeppelin 0.9.0-preview2 is not compatible with the newest Anaconda 2020.07 version.
I suppose it is due to Anaconda 2020.07 change from Python 3.7 to Python 3.8, but I'm not sure.
The following error message is issued in Zeppelin note's cell, if running with the newest Anaconda 2020.07 a %python.ipython statement:
org.apache.zeppelin.interpreter.InterpreterException: org.apache.zeppelin.interpreter.InterpreterException: Fail to open JupyterKernelInterpreter:
org.apache.zeppelin.interpreter.InterpreterException: Kernel prerequisite is not meet: jupyter-client is not installed.
FYI and thank you for fixing it.
BR,
Gilles

Could you check whether you have jupyter-client installed in your anaconda ?
