As I said the problem is in the connection listener. It continues to allocate memory, but it's never freed

Dims,
I think the problem is quite serious. I've tried to change my client so that it creates several ServiceClients object which send and wait for less messages, but I was not able to fix the issue this way.
I think the root is described here
http://www.nabble.com/-Axis2--ServiceClient-question-tf2496516.html#a6959251
I'm using only 1 (multi threaded ) configuration context, so the memory is released only at the end (or when I get an out of memory error :().

Deepal,
where do you think the problem is?
I've looked at it some time ago, and I've found that there's only one object (connection listener???) per configuration context. It would be much better to use a separate connection listener for each ServiceClient. Does it make any sense?

yes, the problem is the DefaultConnectionListener class:

Michele Mazzucco reopened AXIS2-2328:
-------------------------------------
I think there's still a memory leak somewhere. In fact after about 2 hours (and about 4000 requests sent from 2 clients created using the same configuration context) the memory usage is > 1 GB (and the number of responses to receive is < 10).
p.s. I call the cleanup method on the two ServiceClient objects ONLY once all responses have been received.

Deepal,
the problem appears only if you use the same callback to process all responses. Is this you scenario?

Michele Mazzucco commented on AXIS2-2328:
-----------------------------------------
If it can help, I've noticed that if the firewall does not allow the client to receive the response (i.e. the request is executed by the server, but the response never reaches the client) the memory usage remains more or less stable. Memory problems seems to arise only in the correct scenario (i.e. when the client receives responses)
