[users@httpd] stupid question

I bought a server from a friend in the cohosting biz, and it came set up for
the web, and able to mount several domains if needed- which came in handy later.

In my box, web domains are off of the /www directory, each one having it's
domain name as it's web directory name, so howlermonkey.net is in
/www/www.howlermonkey.net, sacredelectron is /www/www.sacredelectron.org, and
so on.

Normally, if a server only had one domain in it, what directory are the web
files in, and what is it traditionally named? I am running FreeBSD if this
helps any.

well my linux ( Mandrake 9.0 ) default is
/var/www/html
easily set to go anywhere with the documentroot. :)
