Validity of meta data

Hi

I think it's important for performance reasons to have a possibility
to check the validity of meta data, i.e. if they have been modified
in the meantime.

Currently, it's possible by checking the modification date of the
.meta file which is kind of a hack. A better solution would be to
have an API to check the last modification date of meta data.

This said, if Lenya moves on to JCR ... :-)
