Ok.
Can you reproduce the same problem using a command line spamassassin,
feeding it on stdin a message with a valid DKIM signature. Just in
case, run it under the same UID as your spamd. Something like:
$ spamassassin -D -t <test.msg 2>&1 | tee 0.log
If you can reproduce it, please attach the complete debug log,
or mail it to me (gzipped) if you prefer.
If it only happens with spamd, I'd be interested in its full
debug output (option -D).

Ok, I understand the bug now.
The " Makefile.PL" does not replace properly the binaries in /usr/bin (i.e. I
had to delete the files so the new files get installed)
therefore, the running spamc/spamd were using the latest shared data but the
old binary.
Deleting /usr/bin/spamc /usr/bin/spamd /usr/bin/spamassassin before the " make
install" fixed the bug
So, this turns to be a Makefile issue, not a plugin AskDNS issue.

The bug actually does NOT appear with the spamassassin command line

The Makefile.PL doesn't, but the make install should. The canonical
installation procedure for any perl module including the Mail::SpamAssassin
is:
# perl Makefile.PL; make; make test; make install

Thank you for finding the reason of a failure.
I'm closing this now as 'resolved invalid'.

I cannot reproduce this, even with spamd.
Are you sure you have a complete SVN r1053556, or did you only
pick the AskDNS plugin from there and have an older code elsewhere,
or perhaps a mix of two versions installed?
Please check a file Mail/SpamAssassin/Message/Metadata.pm,
it should have the following code close to its end:
$permsgstatus->{main}->call_plugins("extract_metadata",
{ msg => $msg, permsgstatus => $permsgstatus,
conf => $permsgstatus->{main}->{conf} });
(pay attention to: permsgstatus => $permsgstatus, which is new)

No, I do not have any additional plugins
The file is what I get from the "-D" of spamd. Maybe I do something wrong ?

It's probably just your default syslog.conf that is filtering out the
debug level log messages.
Please just try with the command I suggested.

I spent a couple of hours trying to reproduce this problem, but
could not succeed. Seems there is some detail distinguishing
your setup from mine (I tried a barebones install too).
Do you have any nonstandard plugins installed (apart from the
iXhash which I can see from your log) ?
> I just posted the DEBUG from spamd with the said error
This isn't very helpful, seems like your syslogd configuration
is filtering out log entries with a priority debug.
Please provide the full debug output from spamd, such as
obtained by the following command:
# spamd -D -s stderr 2>&1 | tee 0.log
