Coverity reports many issues related to code quality, error checking, memory leaks and so on. They are classified depending on the possible operational impact for the application.
Attached a patch that fixes (or at least try to  ) the reported issues classified as Medium Impact issues.
Apply the patch with git apply --whitespace=fix.
P.s. The patch may look huge, but the biggest part is just correct re-indentation.
