How can Atom Publishing Protocol GET be used to locate entry(s) of interest in an entry collection?

How can Atom Publishing Protocol GET be used to locate entry(s) of interest in an entry collection?

For example, Client A posts an ad (atom entry specifying ad details via APP POST). Client B wants to update the ad entry posted by Client A. Client B knows some context about the ad, such as product ID and the ‘entry collection URL’. How does Client B obtain the ad atom entry posted by Client A (thus obtaining the edit-url). How can Client B query a entry collection via APP?

I am thinking along the lines of a GET with search parameters. The result would be an atom feed containing 0 or more entries that matched the search criteria.

Is there an example that exists that does this today?

Thanks,

Nathan
