git_buildbot.py has been added to the post-receive.d hooks directory. To configure a project's git repository to trigger buildbot builds you just need to set the hooks.asfgit.buildbot-project setting in the project's git config file. When creating new git repositories there's a step that brings up $EDITOR with a sample config that has default or commented out values so this is part of the work flow already.
