[users@httpd] Saving the value of LAST_MODIFIED in a further environment var

Hi,

I'm looking for a way to save and perhaps modifiy the value of
last_modified in an environment variable. Maybe there is a chance with the
rewrite mod.

I'm using apache 1.3.31 with several mods. Some of the mods replace in
certain cases last_modified as environment variable (mod_layout). For some
purposes I still need a last_modified variable.

Any hint is welcome!
