   I'm not sure. I see this method is used in `AggregatorFactory.mergeAggregators()`, which is used in `CompactionTask`, and in some metadata-related tasks. I think documentation of `getMergingFactory()` and `AggregatorFactory.mergeAggregators()` could have explained the essence and the importance of this thing better.
