Prerequisite for installing UIMA framework

Hi,

Good Day!!

I doing some research on extracting unstructured data from web pages. I came to know from web resources that Apache UIMA is a frame work built for the same purpose. I would like to get some details on installation of UIMA and some technical questions.

My Questions are as follows:

1) What are the prerequisites in Windows before installing UIMA package? (Say JAVA)

2) Will installing Eclipse be helpful?

3) Is it possible to read data from web pages using this frame work?

Thanks for your help.

Sincerely,
Arun.

Please read the documentation :-)

Here's a link http://uima.apache.org/documentation.html#getting_started

Java 1.5 or later is required, unless you're running the C++ version (which also
includes some support for Perl, Python, and Tcl).
