Info about JS1 hot portlet deployment

Does Jetspeed 1 allows for hot portlet deployment.
If yes could you explain how it works?

I don't believe so.   If it does, you should be able to compile your 
classes into the WEB-INF/classes directory, add the entry to the .xreg )or 
a new .xreg) and your templates to the proper directories.   I have never 
gotten that to work however, a restart seems required.
