specific user does not see connections list and keeps trying to
connect to one destination
Hi,
I don't know how to describe this issue. I have a lot of users who connect just fine. Both auth and connection objects are stored in LDAP/AD. When users log into guacamole-client they see the connections list and click on whichever element they want to connect to.
Now, there's one particular user who can successfully log into guacamole-client, but then a connection is immediately started to one of the connection elements. I can't reproduce the issue with other users, but I've been sent a video where I can clearly see that it's happening.
The guacd log below isn't really useful (no debug and the RDP server it's trying to conenct to is offline so the connection error is normal).
If the user logs out and back in, the same thing happens again: no connection list and it goes straight to the RDP server connection.
I'll try to collect catalina.out next time the user tries to log in again.
Guacamole-client is from GIT master (taken a couple of days ago). So is guacamole-server.

Why would that be normal?
In any case, no, the user has more than one connection element.
I'll keep looking into this.

If this is the case, it’s normal he/she running directly into it after login.

Ctrl-Shift-Alt allows the user to access the connection list even if the process is in the "connecting..." state?
Great! I'll ask the user to try that.
In the meantime I'll double check the object membership settings.

Well, that takes out the admin user piece of that, so any users that are
seeing that behavior likely only have access to one connection - this is
the design for how it behaves. I would check those users who are seeing
this and make sure they really have access to all the connections you
expect. You can check the Ctrl-Shift-Alt hidden menu and go to the Home
screen and see. It certainly isn't out of the realm of possibility that
there's a bug in Guacamole - we've had one or two before :-).

Even "extending" the home page in such a way that provides additional
information or details or links won't change this behavior at this time -
if the user has only a single connection, they will get redirected to that
connection.
That said, while I think that, in general, this behavior is beneficial and
desired, and not something I'd want to remove entirely, i can see your
point, and maybe there are other circumstances we want to think about that
we could change this behavior - either a parameter in guacamole.properties
that allows you to disable it (leaving it enabled as the default), or
something in a custom extension or branding that would allow for disabling
this behavior.

Also, I'm using LDAP for both auth and connections so, as I understand it, there's no administrative user.
In any case, I "extended" the connectins list web page and added a section below it that points to corporate web resources. Even if the user had only one connection object, I'd still like for he/she to be able to actually see and access that section. So, even if the design makes sense, the fact that guacamole is extendable sort of clashes with that.
Anyway, as said earlier, I'm sure this user has several connection objects.
