Releasing Framework/Excalibur

I would like to make today the day to release Excalibur, and possibly framework.
Excalibur is needed for Cocoon which is being released tomorrow, and there are
a number of bug fixes for CLI and new features for logkit management, resource
monitoring, etc.

+1 Final. We should synchronize release numbers. and work towards 4.1
for all bar Cornerstone.

okays - will not be till the weekend though.

okays. Would you be able to add all the entries to changelog because I
suspect I haven't kept them correct. I am not sure of the exact CVS command
but you should be able to get a log of src/java tree since last CVS tag to
get all changes.

hmm okays. If the warning is in big bold flashing and crazy hightlighted
letters then that should be good ;)

Sounds good. Peter, can you take care of releasing LogKit? I need to add
some docs to Excalibur, and want to get it out in the next couple of hours.

No. Cocoon does not use any scratchpad components. I would like to include the
scratchpad.jar with "Caveat Emptor" attached to its use. It will be well noted
on the docs that Scratchpad includes _experimental_ components that can be reviewed
and tested so we can get feedback. It should not be used in production.

PS
For those who don't know Latin (like me), "Caveat Emptor" means "Buyer Beware".

beta of LogKit still IMO until the DB/JMS targets have been shaken down ;)

hmmm - does any part of Cocoon use the scratchpad components? And if not can
we safely exclude them from distribution (if so +1 on final otherwise +1 on
beta).

That's true. We need to release LogKit as well.

Are we ready to release LogKit final yet?

LogKit 1.0 (final)

Excalibur 4.0 (final or beta5)

Nope - the last logkit release didn't include a whole bunch of things like
the rotation, JMS, DB, RMI targets.

+1

Is there a date for a logkit release. I have no idea if the
to-be-released excalibur works with the latest released logkit version.
