Can't checkout jakarta-tomcat from CVS?

I met a problem when I tried to check out Jakarta-tomcat form the CVS
repository today. I remember the problem
occured yesterday and before, but finally I could get the whole module.
This time, the operation was interrupted.
What happened?

cvs -d :pserver:anoncvs@jakarta.apache.org:/home/cvspublic checkout
jakarta-tomcat
cvs [checkout aborted]: unrecognized auth response from
jakarta.apache.org: cvs: setgroups: Operation not permitted

I'm having the same problem (same applies for xml.apache CVS).
