Xalan 1.2.1 and combined characters

Hi

I have some problems with combined characters. When I try to parse texts with &#x30c, xalan produces question marks... Could you help me ?

My texts are in UTF-8, and I set <xsl:output encoding="UTF-8" method="html"/> at my stylesheets...
