maven.build.src variable?

Hi, I was wondering, I was going to use the maven.build.src variable for the output location of my JAVACC preGoal.  Thus, I was wondering, do I need to update the project.xml to build this generated Java source?  If so, could someone let me know
what tags I would need to add to the project.xml?
