[jira] [Created] (KUDU-2965) Cut down on task-related log spew

Adar Dembo created KUDU-2965:
--------------------------------

Summary: Cut down on task-related log spew
                 Key: KUDU-2965
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/KUDU-2965
             Project: Kudu
          Issue Type: Bug
          Components: master
    Affects Versions: 1.11.0
            Reporter: Adar Dembo
            Assignee: Adar Dembo

If a node in a cluster is unreachable and the catalog manager decides to manipulate that node's replicas (e.g. delete an evicted replica), it starts spewing all sorts of unnecessary log messages pertaining to tasks, including but not limited to: every task send attempt, every time it's scheduled for retry, etc.

Apart from ballooning the master logs, it also obscures the more useful master logging.
