support "MTRK" and "ENVID" keywords as per rfc3885
---------------------------------------------------

         Key: JAMES-384
         URL: http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/JAMES-384
     Project: James
        Type: New Feature
  Components: Remote Delivery

support "MTRK" as per http://ietf.org/rfc/rfc3885.txt and "ENVID" as per http://ietf.org/rfc/rfc3461.txt - see also JAMES-322

doing this looks like a prerequisite for james being used in government contexts (https://www.shab.ch/DOWNLOADPART/N2709108/N2005.00116259.pdf)

[jira] Updated: (JAMES-384) support "MTRK" and "ENVID" keywords as per rfc3885

Posted by "Stefano Bagnara (JIRA)" <se...@james.apache.org>.

Stefano Bagnara updated JAMES-384:
----------------------------------

    Priority: Minor (was: Major)

A new feature request for a "not so common" extension should not be considered "Major" priority by default.

[jira] Commented: (JAMES-384) support "MTRK" and "ENVID" keywords as per rfc3885

Stefano Bagnara commented on JAMES-384:
---------------------------------------

Do you know of MTA/MDA/MUA already supporting the MTRK extension?

I don't understand german and I see the RFC reference in the pdf but IMHO MTRK is part of a really new RFC and none of the mail server I know does support MTRK. I doubt that swiss government already REQUIRE MTRK support.

BTW, I'm already working on the ENVID support.

MTRK will be more difficult to be implemented because we need to track message state/position during spooling and to add a "tracking data" repository for future reference.
