[users@httpd] .htaccess problem with HeaderName and ReadmName

Hi list

I have following problem:

When i set HeaderName and ReadmeName in httpd.conf these values take plase in
all possible directories under DocumentRoot, but if i set values in .htaccess
file (currently in UserDir directories) it has effect only in current
directory i.e. if /~user/ has a .htaccess file with these two directives it
works ONLY i /~user/ but not in /~user/somedir/ directory.

My OS is Linux Slackware 10 with apache 2.0.52
