On Iceberg tables when "ALTER TABLE table DROP COLUMN x" fails if x is a partition column, the error message is cryptic: Failed to ALTER table 'table': Cannot find source column for partition field: 1001: x: identity(1).

The error message should be improved to suggest that partition columns cannot be dropped.
