Serializing/Deserializing an array or a vector

well, at this point, is there a way to pass back and forth an array or ,more
preferably, a vector with my own ( NOT Java String, etc... ) objects in it
???? I would very much appreciate any helpful comments. Please include
<isd:map ... />  from deployment descriptor.
