More SSVMs please waiter

Is there a way to induce the creation of some more SSVMs?
My storage connectivity isn't the greatest and it would be nice to balance
out the workloads a bit.

Hi, David. Do you mean as an automatic process? CloudStack will create
SSVMs as needed (based on the configuration mentioned by Somesh), but I
don't think they will be destroyed automatically. You can destroy an
SSVM manually via API or UI, but it may be recreated depending on the
configuration. If you want to remove an extra SSVM and not replace it,
change the configuration accordingly and then proceed to destroy the SSVM.

Best regards,
Kirk

Sounds good. Thanks!
I read a while ago that SSVMs can be created as needed but not destroyed.
Is that still the case?

Yes, it is. Please set the global configuration parameter "secstorage.capacity.standby " to a higher value. You may also want to lower "secstorage.session.max" so as to balance out the workloads.
