[jira] [Created] (KAFKA-6330) KafkaZkClient request queue time
metric
Ismael Juma created KAFKA-6330:
----------------------------------
Summary: KafkaZkClient request queue time metric
Key: KAFKA-6330
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/KAFKA-6330
Project: Kafka
Issue Type: Bug
Components: zkclient
Reporter: Ismael Juma
KafkaZkClient have a latency metric which is the time it takes to send a request and receive the corresponding response.
If ZooKeeperClient's `maxInFlightRequests` (10 by default) is reached, a request may be held for some time before sending starts. This time is not currently measured and it may be useful to know if requests are spending longer than usual in the `queue` (conceptually as the current implementation doesn't use a queue).
This would require a KIP.
