[jira] [Created] (BIGTOP-3784) Improve the build scripts to make binary distribution more configurable

Kengo Seki created BIGTOP-3784:
----------------------------------

Summary: Improve the build scripts to make binary distribution more configurable
                 Key: BIGTOP-3784
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/BIGTOP-3784
             Project: Bigtop
          Issue Type: Improvement
            Reporter: Kengo Seki

As discussed in a dev-ml thread [1], using Bigtop packages as an Ambari stack requires the following features, for avoiding conflicts between the same packages of the different stacks and switching them.

* The installation path of packages should be configurable
* Some suffix (e.g., stack version) can be appended to the package name

Though it's not determined if we can accept distro-select and config-select into our codebase nor its name, these functionalites may be useful for some users besides Ambari, so I'd like to introduce them into Bigtop.

Note that these features are only used by the Ambari side, and we are not going to change the default behavior of the existing scripts, the installation paths or package names of our binary distribution at all.
