Some implementations of the getpwuid_r call are known to have a bug that makes it non-threadsafe.

Currently known to be broken are:
- The version of the SSSD NSS module in RHEL 6.0 - see https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=680367
- Any other unpatched versions of SSSD prior to 1.5.0
- Vintela Authentication Services prior to 3.5.2-80
