### Please describe the bug 🐞
Today when planning writes we use `arrow.Schema.FieldIndices` to resolve the arrow field index from a field name. This doesn't work for partition specs that use nested fields (e.g. `user.last_name`) because the API above only consults the top level schema rather than traversing nested structs.
