Currently if features are merged, the artifacts in the resulting feature are marked with the origin feature they were defined in.
However this is not done for artifacts in extensions and if a feature is assembled (the include is processed), all artifacts in the resulting feature are marked including those who are defined in the assembled feature which is redundent information.
Finally, currently the source artifact is modified which might have unwanted side effects
