Chao Gao commented on SPARK-24417:
----------------------------------
Hello,I'm a beginner to Spark. I'm wondering how to upgrade Java version step by step, from my perspective, if we use a new version java, UTs would fail unless we solve all the issues(subtasks) related to java version, why could we solve subtasks one by one?

> This is an umbrella JIRA for Apache Spark to support JDK11
> As JDK8 is reaching EOL, and JDK9 and 10 are already end of life, per community discussion, we will skip JDK9 and 10 to support JDK 11 directly.
