Hi,
do we want to open that can of worms (maybe in a limited form) for Ant
1.8.0 or should we keep it closed?

I guess I could wait a little longer if we decide it will be extremely time-consuming to implement, but I've been of the opinion we need this for quite some time... and am fine with $(user.dir) as the default basedir for non-file-based imports.
