Need some help getting subversion working on Fedora Core 2

I've recently installed Fedora Core 2 on a spare system and am trying to get subversion working on it. I'm running into the somewhat infamous db4/NPTL bug described in https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=91933. I've tried to rebuild db4 and subversion using the patches and the new .spec in #61 but still got the error. I'm guessing/hoping that I didn't rebuild correctly or didn't switch over to the rebuilt code correctly. Does any one have a HowTo or something that could help walk me through this fix.

Thanks,
Brian

Geoff,

Thanks for the pointer, but still no dice. I tried installing those rpms
then rebooting just to make sure. When I try to create a repository I get:
#svnadmin create /usr/local/svn/testing3
svn: Berkeley DB error while creating environment for filesystem
/usr/local/svn/testing3/db:
Invalid argument

I'm running this on an old K62 which counts as an i586 I believe. Hence it
gets installed by Fedora with the i386 architecture. I believe from the net
that i686 architectures work fine, but it seems a shame to need to upgrade
the PC to fix this... :)

So for now I'm still out of luck.... wonder if rebuilding subversion will do
it...

Thanks,
Brian

Hi Brian,

I'm running svn on Fedora core 1, on a VPS box without NPTL. I've
ended up doing a few icky things (running with db 4.1) and svn 1.0.1 is
all that I've found available for FC1 so far (given that it'd be a big
job to up upgrade the whole system to db42). However, I'm using a
non-nptl db4 that I got from :

http://tomi.nomi.cz/download/db4-no-nptl/

which made all the difference for me. I don't know how it'll work with
FC2 - but there's a no-nptl db42 in there as well.

I thought I read somewhere that the non-nptl db4 issue was supposed to
be fixed in FC2??

Cheers,
Geoff
