Note: the failure here is a false positive caused by a build that did
not require a commit:

...

nothing to commit, working directory clean
program finished with exit code 1

git commit only seems to respond with success if it actually committed
something.

Not sure if it's worth trying to fix the Buildbot job to work round this.
