@curtiscook I'm afraid you may be stuck waiting for the next general release of Tinkerpop. Unfortunately I don't have any answers as to when the next release may come. I'm not aware of any official release discussions taking place yet, the [developer maillist](mailto:dev@tinkerpop.apache.org) is the best place to watch for this. Looking at past release dates, I would guess that a new release in the next 1-2 months is likely but it's not something I can guarantee.

@phillipuniverse Thanks! Since this is your first PR here I will explain the next steps. For a PR to be merged it needs 3 committers to give it a VOTE +1. Alternatively a PR can be merged with a single VOTE +1 after it has been open for a week. Any committer can give a VOTE -1 and block merging if they have concerns that need to be addressed. Typically you can expect at least one of the committers to review a PR within a couple of days.

I'm not a committer here so I can't give a binding vote on this PR but I will give it a VOTE +1 (non-binding) to show support.

From the linked discussion 3.6.3rc1/3.5.6rc1 has now been released to include this change. I have updated my project accordingly and can now build with Python 3.11!

Thanks @Cole-Greer for pushing this along to the end!

Looks good to me, thanks for submitting this PR. Based on the feedback from the recent release, I would say it's best to backport all the way to 3.5-dev to reach the most users possible. It should only be withheld from 3.5-dev if someone has specific objections preventing it from going in there.

given this is now merged, how do we go about requesting a new 3.5/3.6 release be created?

@sjhewitt @hekolk, the official channel for any release discussion is the dev@tinkerpop.apache.org maillist. I have just sent message to the dev list [here](https://lists.apache.org/thread/ln8wmg35cj4xn0rsyrhz7gj8otd161zs) to initiate this discussion. Our release process can be slow and cumbersome though so I have proposed that a release candidate be published and made available as soon as possible. I believe a release candidate is the best approach to get these changes into users hands quickly. I would appreciate it if any users experiencing trouble due to the current aiohttp version restriction to reply to my dev list email with any opinions on my proposal and thoughts on what would be most helpful for you.
