[jira] [Commented] (INFRA-4667) Provide all Apache Gora committers with Admin Jira access

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/INFRA-4667?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=13249526#comment-13249526 ]

Gavin commented on INFRA-4667:
------------------------------

There is a difference between 'Jira Admin' and 'Project Admin' - You are welcome to add individual committer names to the 'Administrators Role' in your project if you wish, though why all of them would need Admin access is questionable, most should be happy with committer or pmc level access.

See https://cwiki.apache.org/INFRA/role-based-jira-authorization.html for how 'project roles' are configured.
If you need to know any more about permission levels I suggest you consult the Jira documentation, we dont tend to repeat generic software documentation if it can be avoided.

If you are having trouble applying the roles to youir committers for Gora, feel free to ask specifics, otherwise let me know here when you are done.

> Hello Infra@, it has been brought to my attention that not all the guys (committers & PMC) working with our Jira have admin rights and are able to use Jira s they wish. This means that one or two of us with admin rights have to chip in on trivial tasks that could be addressed in a responsible manner by others. Would it be possible to give all Gora PMC members (mentioned here [0]) Jira admin rights for Apache Gora?
> If I am able to sort this our myself then please provide details and I will get on it. I was not able to find any relevant documentation so opened this issue.
> Thank you in advance. Lewis
