We don't have a timeframe yet (other than "as soon as possible") as we are
still in the process of getting information about the status of upstream
projects involved in the change. However, I can safely say that the change
is not going to happen in the near future since there are still some major
blockers that rely on BDB (eg. 389-ds).
For your information I have created a simple list of BDB alternatives [1]
that you can check out.
