[ANN] Apache XML Graphics Commons 1.5rc1 Released

The Apache XML Graphics team is pleased to announce the immediate
availability of Apache XML Graphics Commons Version 1.5rc1 [1], the first
candidate for an upcoming stable 1.5 release.

Apache XML Graphics Commons is a library that consists of several
reusable components used by Apache FOP [2] and Apache Batik [3].
Many of these components may be easily used outside the domains
of SVG and XSL-FO.

This candidate release will be available for testing for at least one
month, after which a stable release is occur. Feedback is welcome,
and we would like to encourage as many people as possible to try it
out and report bugs and issues on the xmlgraphics mailing list [4].

This release fixes a number of bugs and provides important performance
improvements. For a more detailed list of changes see [5]. Source and
binary distributions can be downloaded from an ASF Mirror at [6]. Further
download information is available at [7].
