Invalid authentication - error message

Hi

I am puzzled because I have several programs which were cloned from a
'master' program and have supposedly identical derby database code...

I am using embedded mode

All work OK except for one !

the message I am getting is as follows...............
Connection authentification failure occurred: Reason: Invalid authentication

user variable is same in all programs
password is different in each program

so does this mean that the password I am using on this one program which
fails is NOT the same as the password I initially set up?

If so, how do I see the password I initially set up
