Where do axis2 logs go?

Hi All,

I can't seem to find an axis2.log file on my system. axis2.war gets
deployed, but an axis2.log is never created.

I see the following in my catalina.out:
Jan 18, 2009 7:33:18 PM org.apache.catalina.startup.HostConfig deployWAR
INFO: Deploying web application archive axis2.war

My apache-tomcat-5.5.17/webapps/axis2/WEB-INF/classes/log4j.properties has
the right lines uncommented:
# Set root category priority to INFO and its only appender to CONSOLE.
#log4j.rootCategory=INFO, CONSOLE
log4j.rootCategory=ALL, CONSOLE, LOGFILE

# Set the enterprise logger priority to FATAL
log4j.logger.org.apache.axis2.enterprise=ALL
log4j.logger.de.hunsicker.jalopy.io=ALL
log4j.logger.httpclient.wire.header=ALL
log4j.logger.org.apache.commons.httpclient=ALL

# CONSOLE is set to be a ConsoleAppender using a PatternLayout.
log4j.appender.CONSOLE=org.apache.log4j.ConsoleAppender
log4j.appender.CONSOLE.layout=org.apache.log4j.PatternLayout
log4j.appender.CONSOLE.layout.ConversionPattern=[%p] %m%n

# LOGFILE is set to be a File appender using a PatternLayout.
log4j.appender.LOGFILE=org.apache.log4j.FileAppender
log4j.appender.LOGFILE.File=axis2.log
log4j.appender.LOGFILE.Append=true
log4j.appender.LOGFILE.layout=org.apache.log4j.PatternLayout
log4j.appender.LOGFILE.layout.ConversionPattern=%d [%t] %-5p %c %x - %m%n

And so does my
apache-tomcat-5.5.17/webapps/axis2/WEB-INF/classes/commons-logging.properties:
# Uncomment the next line to disable all logging.
#org.apache.commons.logging.Log=org.apache.commons.logging.impl.NoOpLog

# Uncomment the next line to enable the simple log based logging
#org.apache.commons.logging.Log=org.apache.commons.logging.impl.SimpleLog

# Uncomment the next line to enable log4j based logging
org.apache.commons.logging.Log=org.apache.commons.logging.impl.Log4JLogger

Looks like I am missing some simple config here.

TIA,
rouble

Posted by Amila Suriarachchi <am...@gmail.com>.
see under the $CATALINA_HOME\bin

if an absolute path is not given the the path is determined relative the the
start up directory.

thanks,
Amila.
