[jira] [Commented] (FELIX-5650) Support latest version of Gogo

Pierre De Rop commented on FELIX-5650:
--------------------------------------

Hello Sean,

I plan to work on this soon and will then make a new release.

by the way, I'm not sure I understand why the org.apache.felix.service.command major version has been bumped since it looks like the gogo runtime exported package is semantically compatible with previous version (at least 0.10.1).

So, in order to stay compatible with previous gogo command version, maybe one solution is to not follow semantic versioning and I will try to import the org.apache.felix.service.command with a range like [0.10.1, 2), but this is not clean. Or I will simply have to document that the new upcomming dm-r10 version is not compatible anymore with old gogo shell, and in this case, the previous org.apache.felix.dm.shell (from dm-r9) must then be used in the case the old gogo shell is used.

mmm ... ok, I will investigate all this.

> Dependency Manager Shell should work with Gogo 1.0 and greater. The current version of Dependency Manager Shell has the following package import which fails with the current version (1.0.6) of Gogo Shell:
> org.apache.felix.service.command;version="[0.10,1)";status=provisional
