[jira] [Commented] (INFRA-7722) Monitoring for mail-service

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/INFRA-7722?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=14060592#comment-14060592 ]

jan iversen commented on INFRA-7722:
------------------------------------

I am sorry but I need to push this back, as seen above there has been zero reaction to my suggestion. At the moment I cannot really do anything which is safe (applying patches to a core machine, where the setup is unfamiliar, is very unwise).

> Jan: feel free to push back on this if you need help:
> We need to actually monitor both the 'machine' as well as the service. At a minimum I'd like to know the following things:
> - Machine
> * Load average (graphed, over time)
> * Disk status
> - Capacity used/remaining for storage volumes (graphed, over time)
> - Health of underlying volumes
> - Health of physical disks
> - Mail Service
> * # of messages in the various queues (graphed over time)
> * That the process is running
