+1.
Note that src/conf/* can be excluded if the Ant build is not included
in the src distro.

I gave more checks and I'm +1 to release the Discovery
anyway I would really appreciate Phil's opinion before proceeding :)

Hi Phil,
md5/sha1 have been (finally!) restored; about the maven-metadata.xml
file, I noticed the same when I proposed the Digester 2.1[1], anyway
everything went fine when copied staged artifacts.

Re: [VOTE] Release Apache Commons Discovery 0.5-RC2
Posted by Phil Steitz <ph...@gmail.com>.
Need to get the md5's restored before I can vote on this.
One other thing that I am not sure about is the content of the
maven-metadata.xml file. It lists only the new release. I remember
us getting some backlash a year or so ago when we released something
with metadata like that, since it apparently causes some tools to
think the earlier releases are not valid. This may be an artifact
of the release plugin that I don't understand and it could be no
problem, but a maven expert should verify that this will be OK.
When I look at repo1, there is a lot of junk there for [discovery]
and it looks like the metadata there may already be borked, so this
may be harmless; but if possible it might be good to fix it.

It's not a regression issue though. I'd recommend opening up a JIRA
item to make sure it's something that 0.6 thinks about.

Hi Emmanuel,
as I replied to Oliver, 0.5 is just a maintenance release, (fixed
bugs, checkstyle errors, ...) and any other improvement wasn't even
planned.
Feel free to fill a JIRA issue to remind everybody this is a work has
to be done for 0.6.
Many thanks for your review, have a nice day!!!

What needs to be there are the md5's for the release artifacts
themselves. The cruft referred to on the wiki is md5's of .asc files.

Hi Oliver,
thanks for your review! About your questions:
- I should have deleted the md5/sha1 files because I got confused by
the paragraph "C.2 Remove SHA1 and MD5 Fingerprints of PGP Signatures"
on wiki[1], but I can easily re-upload them;
- About the description: I'll add it as well and re-upload the release notes;
- Findbugs errors: indeed, for the 0.5 my intention was just working
on a maintenance release :P
I'll work on your notifications ASAP, thanks!!!

Re: [VOTE] Release Apache Commons Discovery 0.5-RC2
Posted by Oliver Heger <ol...@oliver-heger.de>.
The build runs fine under Windows 7 with Java 1.5 and 1.6. Site and
artifacts look good.
Here are some minor comments:
- The binaries are missing md5 files. Not sure whether they are really
required, but other components use to have them.
- In the release notes under "Introduction" it may be useful to have one
sentence describing what this component is all about.
- There are some findbugs errors, but I assume they are not related to
the work that was done for the 0.5 release.
So +1.

Yes, that is what I meant by not a showstopper. I am +1 on
releasing as is.

I don't think there is anything that can be done about it. You
definitely do not want to mess with the tag since then the release
will not correspond to the tag.
This also is not a showstopper.

Hi Phil,
thanks for reviewing, very appreciated!
0) is it fine fixing these warning for the current SNAPSHOT?
1) indeed, they have been generated by the release-plugin. How do we
manage this situation? Do we update them manually before/after tagging
the release?
Many thanks in advance,

Verified sigs and hashes and tested build with JDK 1.6.0_24
Small non-show-stopping nits:
0) lots of findbugs warnings - none look like real bugs to me, but
they should be documented and excluded in findbugs config
1) release pom has wrong scm connection info (this is an artifact of
using the release plugin AIUI)
