building mod_jk

hi ;

  when i try to perform a make to build the mod_jk.so , my libtool fails ,
cause it is unable to find
  a the pthread lib ..

 however after investigation ; i found
on      /usr/lib/ libpthread.a & libpthreads.a

are these the correct library's or is there something wrong with my
configuration ?
how do i configure the libtool to point to those directory's

/osp/apache24/jakarta-tomcat-connectors-4.1.24-src/jk/native>make
No suffix list.
Making all in common
/osp/apache24/libtool-1.4.3/libtool --mode=compile cc
-I/osp/apache24/include -g
 -DEAPI -g -g -DEAPI -DOSF1 -I /usr/opt/java141/include -I
/usr/opt/java141/include/ -pthread -c -pthread ./jk_ajp12_worker.c
-pthread

libtool: compile: cannot determine name of library object from `-pthread'

*** Exit 1
Stop.

Stop.
